Since all of my very best friends and I will be heading for college in a little bit less than a month, I have put together
these little tips so we can all make it back together for Christmas break!
I've gather the tips below from a variety of resources.
Of course, most will apply to everyone, several to others and not us personally, and few to nobody.

- Take as many pairs of underwear as you can afford or take. [That's so you don't smell like dirty
butt.]
- Put some thought into packing for school. [Only pretty clothes will guarantee you to spend more
money away from home.]
- Bring lots of pictures of family and friends. [Everyone will get homesick from time to time.
And DON'T FORGET THE PICTURE OF ME!]
- Be ready to change your major a million times.
- Buy lots and lots of socks if you think you'll lose them.
- Don't withdraw more money than you need.
- Learn to balance a checkbook. [Stephanie I hope you remember from Business Math...]
- Don't BOUNCE CHECKS!
- Learn to fall asleep with the lights on. [I've already mastered that skill from sleeping in
Mr. Little and Mr. Hood's class. :)]
- Begin budgeting the minute you get in the car to leave for college.
- Write ALL your assignments down. [You are always bound to forget one or two.]
- Due dates are closer than they seem. [Start on that big report IMMEDIATELY!]
- Realize that registering for class will NOT take a minute.
- Never leave your wash unattended. [There just might be someone looking for your dirty socks
and undy.]
- Avoid the vending machines.
- If offered an on-campus job, take it.
- Read textbooks! [Don't cheat by using Spark Notes or Cliff Notes.]
- Join whatever clubs you may have time for.
- Cheer for your school's Football team.
- Don't borrow things without asking. [That would be considered stealing.]
- Whenever a professor offers office hours, visit him/her.
- Stay in touch with old friends and family. [Let them know how you are doing and if you need
any help with anything.]
- Bring a set of formal attire in case of need.
- Learn to negotiate conflicts with roommate(s) and other people.
- No matter how tired you are, always brush your teeth before sleeping. [The dentist sucks!]
- Read the school newspaper or listen to the school radio.
- Always lock your room door. [DUH!]
- Take a class for fun.
- It's okay to cry. [I do it all the time.]
- Be confident and happy with yourself. [Don't change for other people, unless for the better.]
